I got this recipe out of cooking light magazine. This pasta is great tasting and simple to prepare. I loved it!! The only thing i did differently was to add about 1 cup mushrooms to the pan when i added the peas. Hope you enjoy!!

Ingredients

  • Fettuccine
  • Smoked Bacon
  • Onion
  • Garlic Clove
  • Fresh Thyme
  • Frozen Peas
  • Green Onion
  • Half-and-half
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat
  2. Drain pasta, reserving 1 / 4 cup cooking liquid
  3. Cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until crisp
  4. Remove bacon from pan, reserving drippings in the pan
  5. Crumble bacon
  6. Add onion, garlic, and thyme to drippings in pan
  7. Saute 2 minutes
  8. Stir in green peas
  9. Saute 1 minute
  10. Add green onions to pan
  11. Saute 1 1 / 2 minutes
  12. Add pasta, reserved cooking liquid, and half-and-half to pan
  13. Cook 1 minute or until thoroughly heated, tossing to combine
  14. Remove from heat
  15. Add butter, salt, and pepper to pan
  16. Toss until butter melts
  17. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and parmesan cheese
