Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise
  • Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Scallion
  • Parsley
  • Creole Mustard
  • Garlic
  • Sweet Pickle Relish
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Onion
  • Celery
  • Green Bell Peppers
  • Salt
  • Medium Shrimp
  • Scallions
  • Eggs
  • Plain Breadcrumbs
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Creole Seasoning
  • Water
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Hamburger Buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Tartar sauce: in small bowl, combine ingredients
  2. Refrigerate 1 hour
  3. Burgers: in a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat
  4. Add onion, celery, bell pepper, salt and cayenne
  5. Cook until softened, 6 minutes
  6. Add shrimp, cook 3 minutes, until opaque
  7. Transfer mixture to large bowl
  8. Let cool slightly
  9. Add garlic, scallion, 1 egg and 1 / 2 cup breadcrumbs
  10. Mix
  11. Divide into 4 equal portions
  12. Shape into 4 patties
  13. In shallow bowl, combine flour with 1 / 2 teaspoon creole seasoning
  14. In another shallow bowl, beat remaining egg with 1 tablespoon of water
  15. In third small bowl, combine remaining 1 / 2 cup bread crumbs and 1 / 2 teaspoon creole seasoning
  16. Dredge each patty in flour mixture, then egg, then crumbs
  17. In nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat
  18. Add patties cook 3 minutes per side, to brown
  19. Drain on paper towels
  20. Spread buns with tartar sauce
  21. Fill with patty, lettuce and tomato
