This recipe evolved because i could not afford (nor find) fresh crabmeat for a recipe i had pulled out of the paper. It sounds like a lot of ingredients, but comes together quickly. Hope you enjoy it!

This recipe evolved because i could not afford (nor find) fresh crabmeat for a recipe i had pulled out of the paper. It sounds like a lot of ingredients, but comes together quickly. Hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients

  • Nonstick Cooking Spray
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Onion
  • Celery
  • Green Pepper
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Old Bay Seasoning
  • Evaporated Milk
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Garlic Pepper Seasoning
  • Lump Crabmeat
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350f spray 1 qt baking dish with non-stick spray
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat
  3. Add onion, celery and green pepper
  4. Saute until onions are translucent, about 6 minutes
  5. Stir frequently
  6. Add flour and stir until blended with vegetables
  7. Add old bay and stir once more
  8. Gradually add milk while stirring constantly until thick
  9. Remove from heat
  10. Add egg, salt, peppers and crabmeat
  11. Stir to blend
  12. Place mixture into casserole dish
  13. Sprinkle with cheese
  14. Bake, uncovered, 25 minutes, or until cheese melts and begins to lightly brown
