Ingredients

  • Pie Dough
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Butter
  • Granny Smith Apples
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Salt
  • Eggs
  • Fat-free Buttermilk
  • Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. To prepare crust, roll dough into a 14-inch circle
  3. Fit into a 9-inch deepdish pie plate coated with cookig spray
  4. Fold edges under
  5. Flute
  6. Place pie plate in refrigerator until ready to use
  7. To prepare streusel, lightly spoon 1 / 3 cup flour into a dry measuring cup
  8. Level with a knife
  9. Combine 1 / 3 cup flour, brown sugar, and 1 / 2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl
  10. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until the mixture resembles coarse meal
  11. Place streusel in refrigerator
  12. To prepare the filling, heat a large nonstrick skillet coated with cookig spray over medium heat
  13. Add sliced apple, 1 / 4 cup granulated sugar, and 1 / 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  14. Cook 10 minutes or until the apple is tender, sitrring mixture occasionally
  15. Spoon the apple mixture into prepared crust
  16. Combine remaining 3 / 4 cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, salt, and eggs, stirring with a whisk
  17. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla
  18. Pour over apple mixture
  19. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes
  20. Reduce oven temperature to 300
  21. Sprinkle streusel over pie
  22. Bake at 300 for 40 minutes or until set
  23. Let stand 1 hour before serving
