Sugared almonds and a honey-mustard dressing make this salad a real standout.

Ingredients

  • Slivered Almonds
  • Sugar
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Hard-cooked Eggs
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • White Vinegar
  • Honey
  • Lemon Juice
  • Onion Powder
  • Celery Seed
  • Ground Mustard
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. In a small heavy skillet, combine almonds and sugar
  2. Cook and stir over medium heat for 5-6 minutes or until nuts are coated and golden
  3. Spread onto foil to cool
  4. Divide romaine among salad plates
  5. Top with eggs and cheese
  6. In a blender, combine the sugar, vinegar, honey, lemon juice, onion powder, celery seed, mustard, paprika and salt
  7. While processing, gradually add oil in a steady stream
  8. Drizzle over salads
  9. Sprinkle with almonds
  10. Serve immediately
