A french white sauce that goes nicely with poultry or fish.

Ingredients

  • Margarine
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Chicken Broth
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Ground Nutmeg
  • Toasted Almond

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine over medium heat in 1 1 / 2-quart saucepan
  2. Stir in flour
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly
  4. Remove from heat
  5. Stir in broth
  6. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly
  7. Boil and stir 1 minute
  8. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg
  9. Just before serving stir in the almonds
