Found all allrecipes, originally from taste of home. Posted for zwt iv, germany. Prep time does not include overnight marination. Note that this says it's just for two.

Ingredients

  • Water
  • Red Wine Vinegar
  • Sugar
  • Boneless Beef Chuck Roast
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Ground Nutmeg
  • Onion
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Bay Leaf
  • Raisins
  • Cornstarch
  • Half-and-half Cream
  • Cooked Egg Noodles

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water, vinegar and sugar
  2. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved
  3. Cool
  4. Sprinkle beef with salt, pepper and nutmeg
  5. Place in a large resealable plastic bag
  6. Add onion, parsley, bay leaf and cooled marinade
  7. Seal bag and turn to coat
  8. Refrigerate overnight
  9. Drain, reserving 1 / 2 cup marinade
  10. Discard bay leaf
  11. Place the beef and reserved marinade in a saucepan
  12. Bring to a boil
  13. Reduce heat
  14. Cover and simmer for 2 hours or until meat is tender
  15. Stir in raisins
  16. Combine cornstarch and cream
  17. Stir into beef mixture
  18. Bring to a boil
  19. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until slightly thickened
  20. Serve over noodles
