Ingredients

  • Olive Oil
  • Andouille Sausage
  • Onion
  • Green Bell Pepper
  • Green Onions
  • Celery
  • Garlic
  • Bay Leaves
  • Dried Oregano
  • Ground Cumin
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Ground Allspice
  • Tomatoes
  • Tomatoes With Juice
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Hot Pepper Sauce
  • Farfalle Pasta
  • Large Shrimp
  • Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in heavy large pot over medium heat
  2. Add sausages
  3. Saute until light brown, 5 minutes
  4. Using slotted spoon, transfer sausages to paper towels
  5. Pour drippings from pot
  6. Discard
  7. Add remaining 2 tablespoons oil to pot and heat over medium heat
  8. Stir in onion and next 9 ingredients
  9. Cover and cook until vegetables are almost tender, stirring often, about 8 minutes
  10. Stir in crushed tomatoes and diced tomatoes with juices and bring to boil
  11. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes to blend flavors
  12. Stir in sausages, worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce
  13. Simmer uncovered until sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes longer
  14. Season to taste with salt and pepper
  15. Discard bay leaves
  16. Meanwhile, cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water until just tender but still firm to bite
  17. Remove from heat
  18. Add shrimp to pot
  19. Cover and let stand just until shrimp are pink on outside and opaque in center, about 2 minutes
  20. Drain pasta and shrimp
  21. Return to pot
  22. Add sauce and toss to blend
  23. Transfer to bowl
  24. Serve, passing parmesan cheese separately
