Ingredients

  • Wild Rice
  • Barley
  • Bulgur
  • Almonds
  • Flax Seeds
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Cider Vinegar

Instructions

  1. Wash uncooked wild rice, barley and bulgur thoroughly
  2. Add to 9 cups boiling water in a heavy pan
  3. Return water to boil and stir
  4. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 50-60 minutes or just until kernals puff open
  5. Uncover and fluff with table fork
  6. Simmer five additional minutes
  7. Drain any excess liquid
  8. For chewier texture cook less time
  9. Add almonds and flaxseed
  10. Combine oil and vinegar
  11. Add to rice and grain mixture
  12. Serve hot
