No Knead Knot Rolls

These rolls require no kneading and the dough rises in the refrigerator overnight. Time preparation does not include rising time.

Description

These rolls require no kneading and the dough rises in the refrigerator overnight. Time preparation does not include rising time.

Ingredients

  • Active Dry Yeast
  • Warm Water
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Egg
  • Shortening
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water
  2. Add the sugar, salt and 2 cups flour
  3. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes
  4. Add egg and shortening
  5. Mix well
  6. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight
  8. Punch dough down and divide into four portions
  9. Shape one portion into a 14-inch x 12-inch rectangle
  10. Spread 2 t butter over dough
  11. Fold in half lengthwise
  12. Cut into 12 strips
  13. Tie each strip into a knot
  14. Tuck and pinch ends under
  15. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets
  16. Repeat with remaining dough
  17. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour
  18. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes
