A gently spiced curry from the bengali part of india. Adaped from "1000 great indian recipes" published by roli & janssen, 2005.

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • Ghee
  • Onion
  • Ground Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Ground Cloves
  • Ground Cardamom
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Ground Turmeric
  • Ground Coriander
  • Chili Powder
  • Water
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Long Grain Rice

Instructions

  1. Dismember the chicken
  2. Take the breasts off the ribcage
  3. Heat the ghee
  4. Add the onion and fry until translucent
  5. Add all the spices and mix to combine
  6. Fry for a few second to flavor the ghee
  7. Add the chicken and brown
  8. Add water and tomato
  9. Cover and simmer until chicken is almost cooked
  10. Add rice and continue simmering 20 minutes
