Hungarian Style Brussels Sprouts

This is how my european mil prepared them.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Brussels Sprouts
  • Onion
  • Bacon
  • Sour Cream
  • Fresh Coarse Ground Black Pepper
  • Salt
  • Paprika

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 inch salted water to boiling
  2. Add brussels sprouts
  3. Heat to boiling
  4. Cover and reduce heat
  5. Simmer 8-10 minutes, or until tender
  6. Drain
  7. Fry bacon over medium heat until crisp
  8. Remove bacon with slotted spoon
  9. Reserve drippings
  10. Cook and stir onions in hot bacon drippings until tender
  11. Stir in brussels sprouts, sour cream and pepper
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Heat until hot
  14. Sprinkle with bacon and paprika
