Ingredients

  • Chuck Steaks
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Oil
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Plum Jam
  • Vinegar
  • Beef Stock
  • Sweet Chili Sauce
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Chives
  • Parsley
  • Milk

Instructions

  2. Sift the flour, baking powder, and the salt together into a bowl
  3. Smooth in butter until you have a mixture of fine crumbs
  4. Add in the chives and parsley, mixing well
  5. Add the milk and stir it in until just combined
  6. Place onto a floured surface and knead until smooth
  7. Roll out to a 1 1 / 2 inch thickness
  8. Cut into 2 inch rounds

  10. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  11. Trim the excess fat / tendons off of your beef and cut the beef into cubes about 1 inch in size toss the beef and the flour together
  12. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a heavy pan and cook the meat quickly, in small batches, over med-hi heat until browned
  13. Drain on paper towels
  14. Heat 1 tbsp oil in pan and add the garlic and onions and cook them for about 3 minutes or until they are soft put the garlic and onion mixture together with the meat in a large bowl
  15. Add the jam, vinegar, stock, and chili sauce to the meat and stir well
  16. Place in ovenproof dish, cover, and bake for 1 hour 30 minutes
  17. Remove the cover and turn oven up to 475 degrees
  18. Place your biscuits on top of the meat and bake, uncovered, for about 30 minutes serve
