This simple, thick, and hearty bean-packed chili is great for slow cooking. The smell it emits is mouth watering. It makes a lot, so it's good for stretching lunches, snacks, and dinners.

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef
  • Ground Sausage
  • Dark Red Kidney Beans
  • Diced Tomatoes With Garlic And Olive Oil
  • Tomato Paste
  • Fresh Tomato
  • Onion
  • Bell Pepper
  • Green Onion
  • Jalapeno
  • Garlic
  • Chili Powder
  • Pepper
  • Thyme
  • Cumin
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and sausage together in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink
  2. Drain
  3. Add meat to crock pot
  4. In the same skillet add onion and green pepper
  5. Cook until tender, stirring occasionally, approximately 5 minutes
  6. Add to crock pot
  7. Add remaining ingredients to crock pot and stir well
  8. Slow cook on low 5-6 hours, stirring periodically
  9. This can also be cooked on the stove
  10. Follow previous directions, but add to a large pot instead
  11. Heat to boil, cover, and simmer on low for 1 hour, stirring occasionally
