Ingredients

  • All-purpose Flour
  • Sugar
  • Fast Rise Yeast
  • Salt
  • Dried Marjoram
  • Dried Thyme
  • Parsley Flakes
  • Dried Basil
  • Dried Oregano
  • Dried Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Milk
  • Water
  • Butter
  • Egg
  • Dried Parsley Flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1-1 / 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, salt and herbs
  2. In a saucepan, heat the milk, water and butter to 120-130f
  3. Add to dry ingredients
  4. Beat just until moistened
  5. Add egg
  6. Beat until smooth
  7. Stir in just enough remaining flour to form a soft dough
  8. Turn onto a floured surface
  9. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 4-6 minutes
  10. Cover and let rest for about 10 minutes
  11. Divide dough into thirds
  12. Shape each portion into a 15 inch rope
  13. Place ropes on greased baking sheet and braid
  14. Pinch ends to seal and tuck under
  15. Cover
  16. Let rise until doubled, about 20 minutes
  17. Bake at 375f
  18. For 25-30 minutes or until golden brown
  19. Brush with melted butter
  20. Combine herbs
  21. Sprinkle over bread
  22. Then remove from pan to a wire rack to cool
  23. Yield: 1 loaf
