For a great cooking class i attended in morton, illinois.

Ingredients

  • Kosher Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Fresh Green Beans
  • Butter
  • Olive Oil
  • Onions
  • Mixed Herbs
  • Walnuts

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil
  2. Add a pinch of salt and the beans
  3. Cook for 5 minutes
  4. Drain and set aside
  5. While water is boiling, thinly slice both onions
  6. Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet
  7. Add onions and kosher salt and pepper
  8. Allow the onions to caramelize for around 20-25 minutes
  9. Add herbs and cook for an additional 5 minutes
  10. Add green beans and walnuts
  11. Mix well
  12. Heat for an additional 2 minutes and serve
