I can't remember where i got this, but it's a great alternative to all the dips that you'd usually bring to a party.

Ingredients

  • Portabella Mushroom Caps
  • Button Mushrooms
  • Garlic Clove
  • Dry White Wine
  • Dried Thyme
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Cream Cheese
  • Lemon Juice
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Smoked Gouda Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Green Onion Top

Instructions

  1. Place half of the mushrooms in a food processor, and process until finely chopped
  2. Spoon chopped mushrooms into a large skillet
  3. Place the remaining mushrooms and garlic in processor, and process until finely chopped
  4. Spoon mushroom mixture into pan
  5. Add wine and thyme
  6. Cook over medium-high heat for 10 minutes or until l liquid almost evaporates
  7. Sprinkle the mixture with flour, and stir well
  8. Stir in cream cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper
  9. Cook 1 minute
  10. Spoon into a serving bowl
  11. Cover and cool
  12. Stir in gouda, sour cream, and parsley
  13. Sprinkle with green-onion tops, if desired
  14. Cover and chill
  15. Yield: 3 cups
