Fig And Pear Crumble

Ingredients

  • Dried Figs
  • Fresh Pears
  • Sugar
  • Unsalted Butter
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Salt
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Brown Sugar
  • Whipped Cream

Instructions

  1. Remove the stems from the figs
  2. Quarter the figs
  3. Place figs in a small bowl
  4. Add hot water to cover
  5. Let stand 20 minutes
  6. Drain and set aside
  7. Place the pear wedges in a large bowl
  8. Sprinkle with 1 / 3 cup sugar, melted butter, 1 tbsp flour, salt, and 1 / 4 tsp cinnamon
  9. Toss well
  10. Spoon the pear mixture into a buttered 8 inch square baking dish
  11. Arrange the figs on top of the pear mixture
  12. Set aside
  13. Combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, 1 / 4 cup sugar, and 1 / 4 tsp cinnamon in a medium bowl
  14. Stir well
  15. Cut in 1 / 3 cup butter with a pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly
  16. Sprinkle over the figs and pears
  17. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown
  18. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream
