This is my version of a yummy chinese take out we had once. The cantonese sauce i use is my recipe #123655.

Ingredients

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Sesame Oil
  • Cornstarch
  • Garlic Powder
  • Egg
  • Cantonese Sauce
  • Soy Sauce
  • Brown Sugar
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Spring Onions

Instructions

  1. Mix cantonese sauce, soy sauce, packed brown sugar, 1-1 / 2 t sesame oil, and sesame seeds
  2. Cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly
  3. Taste at least once to adjust flavor
  4. If to sweet add a bit more soy and to tangy, a bit more sugar
  5. Set aside sauce
  6. Cut the chicken into strips
  7. Mix cornstarch and garlic
  8. Dip chicken into egg and then cornstarch
  9. Fry in 1 / 2 c vegetable oil and 3 t sesame oil till lightly brown and cooked through
  10. Be carefully not to over cook because it will make the chicken tough
  11. Drain chicken on paper towels and blot off any grease, and place in pan with sauce
  12. Mix well, and serve over jasmine rice
  13. Sprinkle chopped spring onions on top
