Eezi Peezi Chickpea Curry

Ingredients

  • Chickpeas
  • Chickpea Flour
  • Water
  • Tomatoes
  • Green Pepper
  • Garam Masala
  • Fennel Seed
  • Cinnamon
  • Cardamom Pods
  • Fresh Ginger
  • Asafoetida Powder
  • Curry Powder
  • Oil
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Roast chickpea flour in a heavy frying pan for few minutes, till aromatic and a few shades darker
  2. Keep aside
  3. Heat oil
  4. Add fennel, cinnamon, cardamom and ginger
  5. Fry for a few seconds till aromatic
  6. Add asafetida, curry powder and chickpea flour
  7. Add water gradually and stir mixture till smooth, breaking up any lumps
  8. Add tomato and chopped pepper
  9. Simmer for few minutes and then lower heat
  10. Add drained and washed chickpeas and cook gently for 2-3 minutes
  11. Season with salt, serve with rice or roti
