Ingredients

  • Oil
  • Mustard Seeds
  • Dried Red Chilies
  • Fenugreek Seeds
  • Curry Leaves
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Fresh Ginger
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Chili Powder
  • Coriander Powder
  • Salt
  • Tamarind Paste
  • Fish

Instructions

  1. Grind the curry paste ingredients with a little water in a blender until smooth
  2. Put the oil in a pan and heat till it shimmers
  3. Add the seasoning and fry till the mustard seeds start to pop
  4. Add the curry paste, mix and let it boil until thick
  5. Add the powders and salt to taste
  6. Mix well
  7. Simmer covered until the raw smell goes
  8. Spices should smell cooked
  9. Open when thick enough to eat
  10. Put cleaned thick fish slices into the curry
  11. Add tamarind paste and simmer for 5 more minutes
