These are so easy--you use pre-made and frozen bread dough to make them. They are great for thanksgiving, halloween or just any old night.

These are so easy–you use pre-made and frozen bread dough to make them. They are great for thanksgiving, halloween or just any old night.

Ingredients

  • Frozen Bread Dough
  • Egg

Instructions

  1. Cut loaf of bread dough in half horizontally
  2. Roll each half into a 36-inch rope
  3. Brush well with beaten egg
  4. Tie an overhand knot in one end holding end up as a pumpkin stem
  5. Leave the circle open
  6. With long end of rope, continue winding in and out of circle finishing up with the end tucked underneath
  7. This will form a pumpkin shape
  8. Cup hands around finished pumpkin sides and plump it up tall
  9. Keep stem above the pumpkin
  10. Brush again with egg and place on a baking sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray
  11. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and allow to double in size
  12. Remove wrap and bake at 350f 25-30 minutes
  13. Cool, slice off top and hollow out bowls
  14. Fill with your favorite stew
  15. Makes 2 pumpkin stew bowls
