Double Nut Candy

Delicious and gooey!

Ingredients

  • Walnuts
  • Slivered Almonds
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Light Corn Syrup

Instructions

  1. Place the walnuts and almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet
  2. Bake at 350 degrees for 4-8 minutes or until toasted and golden brown, stirring once
  3. Let cool
  4. Line an 8 inch square pan with foil
  5. Grease the foil with butter and set aside
  6. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cream, and corn syrup
  7. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly
  8. Stir in toasted nuts
  9. Cook, without stirring, until a candy thermometer reads 238 degrees
  10. Remove from heat
  11. Stir with a wooden spoon until creamt and thickened
  12. Quickly spread into prepared pan
  13. Cool
  14. Cover
  15. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight
  16. Using foil, lift candy out of pan
  17. Discard foil
  18. Cut candy into squares
  19. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator
