This is a healthier version of our favorite banana bread recipe. It has very little fat yet still moist and light. The maple syrup also adds a nice depth of flavor. I use white whole wheat which is lighter, milder and less dense than regular whole wheat and would recommend it for this recipe. King arthur flour carries it.

Ingredients

  • Honey
  • Real Maple Syrup
  • Vanilla
  • Eggs
  • Bananas
  • Milk
  • Whole Wheat Flour
  • Ground Flax Seeds
  • Baking Powder
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350f
  2. Stir together all the wet ingredients in a large bowl
  3. In a smaller bowl stir together the dry ingredients
  4. Add dry ingredients to the wet and mix until basically smooth
  5. Pour batter into a well greased loaf pan and place into the oven to bake for 50-60 min or until tooth pick comes out fairly clean
  6. Enjoy!
