Ingredients

  • Semi-sweet Chocolate Baking Squares
  • Butter
  • Eggs
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Semisweet Chocolate Morsel
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Half-and-half
  • Creme De Menthe
  • Walnuts

Instructions

  1. Combine unsweetened chocolate and butter in a small, heavy saucepan
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted
  3. Let stand 10 minutes
  4. Beat eggs at medium speed of an electric mixer until thick and lemon colored
  5. Gradually add sugar, beating well
  6. Add flour, salt, vanilla, and chocolate mixture
  7. Beat at low speed 1 minute
  8. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased and floured 13x9x2 inch pan
  9. Bake at 350f for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean
  10. Cool 10 minutes
  11. Spread creme de menthe frosting over top
  12. Chill at least 4 hours
  13. Drizzle melted chocolate over frosting or pipe in desired design using metal
  14. 3 or 4
  15. Cut into bars immediately
  16. Remove from pan, and chill at least 1 hour
  17. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator
  18. Yield 4 dozen
  19. Creme de menthe frosting:
  20. Combine all ingredients except walnuts in a mixing bowl
  21. Beat at high speed of an electric mixer until smooth
  22. Stir in walnuts
