Blueberry Maple Syrup French Toast

Plan ahead the unbaked french toast needs to be refrigerated for a minimum of 8 hours or overnight before baking. Serve this with blueberry sauce!

Ingredients

  • White Bread
  • Cream Cheese
  • Sugar
  • Fresh Blueberries
  • Eggs
  • Half-and-half Cream
  • Maple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Butter a 13 x 9-inch baking dish
  2. Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes
  3. Sprinkle half of the bread cubes in the baking dish
  4. Cut the cream cheese into about 1-inch cubes or smaller, then toss over the bread in the baking dish
  5. Sprinkle about 1 / 4 cup sugar over the cream cheese
  6. Sprinkle with 1-1 / 2 cups blueberries then the remaining bread cubes on top
  7. In a large bowl whisk eggs until frothy
  8. Add in half and half and maple syrup
  9. Whisk until well combined
  10. Pour over the bread in the baking dish
  11. Cover and chill for a minimum of 8 hours or overnight
  12. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking
  13. Set oven to 350f
  14. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes
  15. Remove from oven uncover, and continue baking for about 25-30 minutes more, or until golden brown and the center is set
