A hearty pancake with a chewy texture.

Ingredients

  • Quick-cooking Oatmeal
  • Boiling Water
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Egg
  • Milk
  • Apple
  • Walnuts
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Add the oatmeal to a small bowl
  2. Pour boiling water over the oatmeal and let set for 5 minutes
  3. Do not drain
  4. In a big mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon
  5. Stir to combine
  6. Add in the oatmeal, egg, milk, apple, nuts, and melted butter
  7. Stir to mix
  8. Heat a large non-stick griddle or skillet over medium-high heat
  9. Lightly brush with vegetable oil
  10. Pour 1 / 4 cup batter onto griddle for each pancake
  11. Cook about 2 minutes or until bubbles start to form on the surface
  12. Flip the pancake and cook until golden on the other side
  13. Serve with your favorite toppings
