Ingredients

  • All-purpose Flour
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla
  • Caramels
  • Evaporated Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees f
  2. Foil and grease a 13×9 baking pan
  3. Sift flour, baking soda and salt into medium bowl
  4. Beat butter and brown sugar in large bowl until creamy
  5. Add eggs and vanilla
  6. Beat until smooth
  7. Gradually stir in flour mixture spread half of batter in prepared pan
  8. Bake 8 minues
  9. Cool 5 minutes on wire rack
  10. Meanwhile, melt caramels and evaporated milk in nonstick saucepan over very low heat
  11. Reserving 2 tablespoonfuls for drizzle, gently spoon remaining caramel mixture over baked layer in pan
  12. Drop tablespoonfuls of remaining batter over caramel layer, swirl slightly with knife
  13. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown
  14. Cool completely in pan on wire rack
  15. Cut into squares
  16. Reheat reserved caramel, if necessary
  17. Drizzle over bars
