Italian Spinach Dumpling Ground Beef Stew

Fluffy and tender spinach-cheese dumplings on top of a hearty stovetop stew.

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef
  • Oil
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Sliced Mushrooms
  • Creamy Garlic Dressing
  • Water
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • Frozen Chopped Spinach
  • Romano Cheese
  • Egg
  • Milk

Instructions

  1. In large skillet, brown ground beef in 2 tablespoons of oil
  2. Drain
  3. Add spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, salad dressing, and water
  4. Mix well
  5. Bring to boil
  6. Reduce heat, simmer while preparing dumplings, stirring occasionally
  7. In medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt
  8. Blend well
  9. In small bowl, combine spinach, cheese, 2 tablespoons of oil, egg and 1 / 4 cup of milk
  10. Mix well
  11. Add to dry ingredients
  12. Stir until just moistened, adding more milk if necessary to form a soft dough
  13. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto hot stew mixture
  14. Cover tightly
  15. Simmer 12-15 minutes or until the dumplings are fluffy and no longer doughy on bottom
